Ambergris Caye, Belize
16 Hours of COPE Approved CE While Enjoying a Caribbean Vacation
A wise traveler to this island getaway aptly captured the atmosphere of Ambergris Caye with
“no shoes, no shirt, no problem.”

Ambergris Caye encourages visitors to kick off their shoes and just relax. At 36 miles long, Ambergris is the largest of the cayes in Belize. Located in the northern-most waters of the country, three-quarters of a mile west of the Belize Barrier Reef, the island is surrounded by prominent dive and snorkel sites, including the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. The largest town on Ambergris Caye is San Pedro with a population of about 9,000. Renowned for its barefoot lifestyle and island vacation appeal, the primary mode of transportation on the town’s cobblestone streets are via golf carts. In the town and along the beaches to the north and south, visitors will find an eclectic blend of restaurants, shops, funky bars, a host of boutique hotels and numerous condominium complexes. The busiest of Belize’s visitor destinations, San Pedro retains its relaxed atmosphere and remains far from the glitz and noise of a city.

Fulfill your need for quality continuing education with up to 16 hours of COPE approved lectures, and take the vacation you deserve (see Symposium Agenda & Course Schedule at the end of this page).

Classes of 4 hours each day begin on Monday afternoon followed by an evening cocktail reception around the pool. This is a great time for seeing old friends or meeting new ones. Classes are held again Tuesday morning with the afternoon free. Join the group for snorkeling on a catamaran, take off on your own for a round of golf or just put your feet up in a hammock with a good book. Wednesday is a free day. This is a great day to visit one of the many Mayan ruins or horseback ride through the rainforest. Lectures begin again on Thursday afternoon and finish on Friday morning giving you the option to stay an extra weekend. We recommend a minimum of a Saturday to Saturday stay.
